With the release of The Dark Knight just days away, I thought I’d post some up-close pics of the bat-pod and the batmobile from The Dark Knight. These were revealed last year, but we get to see them in action in about a week!
See all the pics right after the jump.

Some lucky soul got a chance to see The Dark Knight, and sent in this review to AICN.
The review is spoiler-free, but does give away some of the plot and reveals a bit about the film’s framework.
I personally didn’t read the whole thing as I want to keep the movie as fresh as possible for myself - but if you want to brave it, click through the jump!

Riiight, just a little. (And don’t worry, I will be covering other superhero titles, too.)
Well, I’ve read this entire nine-part comic series just so I could give you an insightful report on its conclusion. But wait, there’s more! (You’ll get a free, complimentary comic book action figure with each comment—nahh, just kidding.) I realize there haven’t been any other Gotham Underground reviews on the site, so I’ll be catching you up as I go along. So it’s kind of like nine reviews rolled up in one! How cool is that?
My big review of #9 happens at the end, so let’s kick it off with Part One and the first comic in this mini series after the jump! Aren’t you excited?!

Storyline: The Riddle Unanswered
Date: June 4, 2008
Price: $2.99
Writer: Paul Dini
Artists: Dustin Nguyen and Derek Fridolfs
Synopsis: A killer stalks the city, taxing the wits of Batman, the Riddler and every other detective in Gotham. The Dark Knight’s quest to unravel the truth behind the seemingly unrelated murders is complicated by the surprise return of a fan-favorite character. What sinister secret lies at the bottom of the gruesome murders plaguing Gotham City?
Opinion: Wow! This comic is definitely worth your hard-earned cash. The story is interesting and flows well, the dialogue is believable and good, and the art is fantastic. There’s very little to complain about here. Check out my full review after the jump.

Storyline: Gotham After Midnight (part 1 of 12)
Date: May 28, 2008
Price: $2.99
Writer: Steve Niles
Artist: Kelley Jones
Synopsis: “There are things that go ‘bump’ in the night. Be thankful that one of those things is on our side…”
When the full moon rises and casts its eerie glow over the land, the creatures of the night come out to hunt and feast and prey on the innocent citizens of Gotham City, and only one man stands in their way: The Batman.
These are the bizarre and frightening case files of the Dark Knight Detective, featuring grave-robbers, men making monsters, night terrors, and the debut of an all-new moonlight monster known only as Midnight.
In this fatal first issue by the creative team of Steve Niles (30 Days of Night SIMON DARK) and Kelley Jones (BATMAN: RED RAIN), Batman will come face-to-face with the Master of Fear himself - but just what is the Scarecrow after? And what does it have to do with the Axeman? Could it be some elaborate scheme to trap the Bat? Be here at the beginning - and beware!
Opinion: Let me just say right now that this first issue is crazy. It has some good moments, but there are some ridiculous aspects to it. The writing is half good and half bad, but the storyline is interesting and bold. This comic ends with a big cliffhanger, and is totally worth picking up and continuing just to see where it goes (because right now, I actually have no idea).

Storyline: Death Mask (part 3 of 4)
Date: June 4, 2008
Price: $2.99 US
Writer: Yoshinori Natsume
Artist: Yoshinori Natsume
Synopsis: The mystery of the deadly masks is uncovered, as the killer reveals his long-standing deep-rooted connection to the Dark Knight and the time they spent together as students in Japan years ago.
Opinion: Here we are on number three of Yoshinori Natsume’s Batman: Death Mask! This issue, the third in a series of four, and where normal books lose their luster was absolutely intriguing! We get to go on a narrative ride, learning more about Natsume’s story as it unravels before us. This issue is packed full of awesome action sequences, well placed panels that tell the story well and clear and crisp artwork through and through.
There was a bit of confusion at the end for me, but once it clicked I got even more interested in picking up #4.
