Uncanny X-Men #500 Terry Dodson CoverI don’t know about you, but I fully intend on snatching up all of the covers for this 500th issue.  I don’t ever do that, but for Uncanny X-Men, I make a lot of exceptions.

In fact, I am kind of bummed that there are no holographic, chrome or glow-in-the-dark covers for such a huge landmark.

But, we get some excellent art.  Click through the jump to see a gallery of all of the covers available from Terry Dodson, Alex Ross, Greg Land and the late Michael Turner PLUS a 4 page preview!

ComicNerd Review: Fathom #0

Fathom 0
Storyline: Changing Currents
Date: May 28, 2008
Price: $2.50 US

Writer: J.T. Krul

Artist: Ale Garza

Synopsis: Michael Turner’s Fathom makes its triumphant return for the thrilling third volume! The deadly tides of change rise above the surface in the exciting third chapter of the best selling action adventure series, Fathom! Humankind faces a new threat to their existence from the ancient and powerful underwater race, the Black, while the return of the villainous Killian sends shockwaves throughout the already-devastated world of the Blue. Meanwhile, Aspen Matthews attempts to adjust to life above the water, but a future - and past - threat emerges to disrupt her safe haven! Featuring an all-new 12-page story that sets the stage for the brand-new Fathom #1 issue coming this summer, make sure to get in on the ground floor of the next exciting Fathom story arc!

Opinion: This is my first time getting into the series of Fathom so to all you existing fans I apologize in advance. This story is lame!! If I wanted to spend some time with Ariel I would watch the Disney movie! Don’t you know that mermaids are for girls under the age of 8?!

I know it’s just the prologue to get new people interested in the story line but give me a break! $2.50 for 12 pages of story! That’s a little ridiculous! The story is trying to give a little background, I can understand that but honestly save me my money and say, “same as ‘The Little Mermaid.”

Read the full review after the jump… it gets better :)
