With the release of The Dark Knight just days away, I thought I’d post some up-close pics of the bat-pod and the batmobile from The Dark Knight.  These were revealed last year, but we get to see them in action in about a week!

smile-robot1.jpgHappy Monday folks, and welcome to our weekly feature, Monday Movie Mayhem! Where we cover movie and TV nerd-related news for all the ComicNerd.com readers out there!

Unfortunately folks, this is the very last installment of “Monday Movie Mayhem!”, it’s just not proving to be very popular and I think it might be better to just post movie news as it comes rather than giving you ‘old news’ every Monday morning.  So, for this last installment, let me bring to you the normal format one more time.  Look out for in-depth movie reviews just like the one we did for The Incredible Hulk on ComicNerd as well!

This week we have a lot of trailers, so prepare a cup of coffee and get ready to be teased!  First up is the synopsis of the X-Men Origins: Magneto film, based on the actual screenplay itself.   We have the first trailer for The Day The Earth Stood Still remake, starring Keanu Reeves.  Another new trailer for The X-Files: I Want to Believe sequel, set to release later this month.  There is a trailer as well for The Mutant Chronicles, set to release sometime this year and starring Thomas Jane and Ron Perlman.  I’m still not sure how I feel about that one.  A relatively uninteresting promo pic from the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie has been released.  We have some news about who’s going to be in Smallville season 8.  Finally, we have some news about a film based on The Goon comic series.

Are you guys ready for this?  It’s a bit of a stretch but it’s the only piece of information that might be relevant to the setup and plot of 2009’s G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra.  This post is merely speculative, and it doesn’t help that the source information has been changed, but we couldn’t rightly call ourselves nerds if we didn’t see at least some significance in this.

Ok, so as of yesterday, the WHOIS information for http://www.risoefcobra.com had some potentially spoilery information hidden within it.  The information has since been changed, and I can only assume it is because some sites have picked up on it and actually published the email address listed in the WHOIS, which most likely was the reason this information was pulled down.

Click through the jump to see all of the little nuggets that were dropped and see it’s just crazy talk or if something is really to be found here…

Monday Movie Mayhem! - 06/23/08

smile-robot1.jpgHappy Monday folks, and welcome to our weekly feature, Monday Movie Mayhem! Where we cover movie and TV nerd-related news for all the ComicNerd.com readers out there!

First off, I want to point all of you to a full comprehensive and excelent review done by ComicNerd writers Stephanie and RedHollywood about The Incredible Hulk.  Read it right now, right here!

Phew lotta stuff going on this week…  we have a report detailing what happens in the teaser trailer for Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, which we should all be catching at the previews for The Dark Knight, as was reported last week.   We have the debut of the full trailer for The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emporer which just looks AWESOME.

Thomas Jane, who starred in the Punisher reboot (but didn’t return for a sequel) shows off his fanboy side by dressing up as Jonah Hex after he checked out a posible script for a movie based around the badass western anti-hero from DC.  We have a NEW poster for The Dark Knight, but I am not 100% sure it’s an official one.  it still looks cool though!

J Michael Straczynski touched base on the possibility of a Silver Surfer feature movie, and explains how the script portrays Galactus differently from Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer.  We have a quick quote from Will.i.am regarding his role as John Wraith in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie.

We have the very first image of the new Movie Poster from G.I. Joe movie, coming out in 2009.  Click here to see it!  Finally, there’s also an update from Mark Millar about the Kick-Ass movie, which apparently ready to go and the parts have been casted.

A brand new movie poster, the first one we know about; was photographed recently at the Cinema EXPO in Amsterdam for the G.I. Joe movie coming out in 2009.

We initially thought here at ComicNerd the official movie title was G.I. Joe: Dark Sky, but this poster reveals the official title is now:  G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra.  You know what this implies, right?  A franchise!

G.I. Joe Movie Poster

I am so amped for this movie!

Monday Movie Mayhem! - 06/02/08

smile-robot1.jpgHappy Monday folks, and welcome to the second installment of our weekly feature, Monday Movie Mayhem! Where we cover movie and TV nerd-related news for all the ComicNerd.com readers out there!

This week we have a lot of fun updates. Some pics are circulating around that are from the new Incredible Hulk movie, I took a peek at them and realized we’ve had them here for quite some time! I also noticed that IGN got their hands on some Punisher: War Zone pics, but again - we already had ‘em here! Oh well! Just goes to show you might wanna check out ComicNerd first next time haha.

This week we have some information about Transformers 2 plus an update about casting in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins! Then, a producer hits us upside the head with a tidbit about Iron Man 2, yes really! Looks like Disney wants a piece of the comic pie, some info about that one below the fold. The camp from The Watchmen flick coming up have released a fun ’40’s picture of The Minutemen, the heroic precursors to the characters in The Watchmen. Also we have a couple new set pics from the filming of G.I. Joe: Dark Sky.
