Synopsis: A cast of top creators lends their talents to THE JOKER’S ASYLUM - a special month-long, weekly series of one-shots starring the greatest villains in Batman’s rogues gallery.
Each issue tells a special stand-alone story that gives readers an inside look into the insane lives of the Dark Knight’s greatest adversaries. And all the stories are narrated by the Asylum’s leading homicidal maniac - The Joker!
Opinion: For a mini-series that started off weak with a Joker-centric issue, it really has redeemed itself and become an entertaining run of comics. The Penguin and Two-Face one-shots were both pretty good; the only one I haven’t read yet is the Scarecrow issue (the last one). Granted, they all have their flaws (especially the Joker one), but they’re still fun and a good way to get introduced to some classic Batman villains.
And this Poison Ivy comic is no different.

Oh my god, and the art (by Guillem March) is absolutely GORGEOUS. See how lovely the cover is? Every page inside lives up to it—both the colors and the artwork itself. The way the characters are drawn is spectacular. Out of all the Joker’s Asylum comics, I think I like this version of the Joker the best. Poison Ivy (aka Pamela Isley) is beautiful (but deadly) and seductive, but also obsessed and crazy—just as she should be.
I’m not complaining about how Bats and Jim Gordon are drawn, either. Very cool, both of them.
It’s a good little story, but I was kind of disappointed with how it ended: it’s rather abrupt and there really is no justice, heh. Then again, this is Poison Ivy’s story—and it’s being told by the Joker. ;D
So, do I recommend this issue? Definitely. The story might have its flaws, but the art is brilliant.
