Synopsis: Continuing “Batman R.I.P,” the epic story that will change the legend of the Dark Knight forever! As the life of Bruce Wayne takes an interesting turn with Jezebel Jet, the life of Batman falls into the ultimate downward spiral.

Opinion: Ah, now this book was much, much better. It starts with a bang as Batman is looking for answers, visibly at the end of his rope with the games being played at his expense. Commissioner Gordan makes a small allusion to the fact that Batman might be a bit paranoid, which adds to the them of questioning Bruce Wayne’s sanity in this issue.

We get more of a peek into the mastermind behind this whole affair, and it does help to outline a bit of what’s going on. What’s even more interesting is the conversation Gordan has with an editor about running some smear information about the Wayne family. This little bit is a WOW moment for sure, revealing some possibilities that if were brought to light would definitely make for a weird public perception; regardless of if they’re true or not.

Overall this was a much better issue than the last one, and I definitely didn’t feel as lost.

There was a brief discussion between Jezebel and Bruce that seemed a bit out of place, but I think it had more to do with the direction of that scene and less to do with specifically what was said (even though some interesting things were being said). One thing that felt a bit weird was Jezebel causing Bruce to actually second guess himself… which is weird for Batman.

The end of the comic is very exciting, and ends with a huge hint from Morrison in the form of “Zur-En-Arrh”, and it seems as though Bruce Wayne is aware that his time is up - which is extremely odd, especially taking into account the preview tagline says “..and the return of the FIRST BATMAN.”

What do you suppose that means?
