Price: $2.99 US
Writer: Phil Hester
Artist: Andy Kuhn
Synopsis: Back by popular demand, the adventures of Firebreather continue in this all-new monthly title. High school is tough enough for normal kids, but when your Dad is a city-stomping giant monster who expects you to follow in his footsteps it gets even tougher. PHIL HESTER (THE DARKNESS, The Irredeemable Ant-Man) and ANDY KUHN (Blue Beetle, Marvel Team-Up) deliver the high octane action, drama, and humor. For fans of INVINCINBLE and Ultimate Spider-Man.
Opinion: Firebreather #1 is a fun story! The reader follows Duncan, a seemingly normal high schooler right before his 16th birthday. You quickly learn though he is nothing like a normal human teenage boy. He has the strength of a superhero and can breath fire!
The over all story line is fresh and entertaining you can tell the author has a great imagination.

Duncan is the product of a human mother and a dragon father. Living in neither world fully but having all the benefits of a dragon and of a human combined. Interestingly enough his parents marriage didn’t last.
His father seems to be on a quest to make sure his son has all his power, and the glimpse we received of his relationship with is mother is quite the opposite. Duncan’s got a great personality, probably mainly from his teenage hormones but still as independent as any other budding superhero. For now he’s hanging out with friends and battling the fake robots his father sends after him.
I found this to be really entertaining, a quick and fun read with lots of laughs. The art is well done, with clean lines and no wasted space. The action scenes were easy to follow and speckled with funny bits of our superhero’s dry whit. I would recommend this comic to anyone who wants a new superhero!
