Stephanie, definitely start with "Welcome Back, Frank" by Garth Ennis. Then move into the MAX stuff.

War Journal is great for people who want to see Daredevil occasionally show up, and I agree that it started out strong and sort of flagged in the middle, but it seems to be improving.

The MAX series is way better as far as story goes, but if you're a Marvel fan because of the Marvel heroes, well, maybe consider War Journal.

I certainly hope it turns out well. For both the fans and the reputation of comic book movies.

I like P:WJ just because it keeps everything within the Marvel Universe. I liked both of the tie ins with WWH (one of the only issues of the entire series i enjoyed) and especially the Civil War stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing how he fits into SI.

Honestly man if you're looking to see Punisher in a good light, read the MAX series that's been going strong now for more than 50 issues.

Honestly War Journal, like Ghost Rider and Moon Knight; started out strong but banked too much on the sentiment factor and the quality went waaaaay down.

I stopped buying all 3 titles at around #'s 15-18, just by coincidence I got fed up with all 3 at about the same issue sequence.
