Synopsis: A Marvel Knights series by the talents who brought you the IRON MAN movie! What’s a billionaire to do when he’s worn out from running a multi-national corporation? Well, if his name happens to be Tony Stark, it’s a situation that calls for some R & R in the casinos of sin city! Mix in a beautiful archaeologist and the fifty-foot dragon statue she discovered, and a plague of lizards descending on Las Vegas, and it’s a recipe for the sort of armored adventure that’s a perfect chaser after an evening at the movies!
Opinion: Iron Man’s newest series is taking a dip into archeology. Much like a page from Tomb Raider, Tony stark is playing with very old things that will certainly come back to bite him on his cute hiney. It’ll be really interesting to see how Tony Stark the carefree electronic genius handles an ancient artifact which is not electronic and easily understood.
The series is of course just in time for the new Ironman movie (which you all should have seen by now and if you haven’t you need to stop surfing the internet and see it!). The series is actually written by the director of the movie, which should help keep the Ironman/Tony Stark character pretty similar. Nothing is more confusing then a comic and a movie which reflects two different characters of a superhero.
The director, er… writer of the comic portray Tony as a devil-may-care playboy who occasionally saves a few lives. I’m really looking forward to some further character development and maybe some intelligence as Tony battles the ancient monster he accidentally woke up. You’ll have to read the comic since I don’t want to spoil anything I won’t go into more detail. My only complaint is that the comic was too short, I understand you can’t fit a whole story into one issue but maybe a little more character/story development would be nice.

1Ohh, sounds interesting! Tony Stark a la Lara Croft (big fan)? Worth a read.
