Synopsis: A unique take on the man who’s the best there is at what he does. Finally armed with long-lost memories from his past, Wolverine returns to one of his first battlefields to settle an old score in an all-new adventure with a shocking revelation about the man known as Logan.

Opinion: I am going to be brutally honest here. I, like everyone else on the planet earth think Wolverine is a badass, a great character with a lot of versatility. I also think Brian K. Vaughn is an excellent scribe, I really really enjoy Y: The Last Man (don’t spoil it for me! I am waiting on the last trade!) and I keep looking for his credits on LOST episodes.

But…

I also think Wolverine is over-exploited. Like, way over-exploited. It almost seems like Marvel only has one A-lister and he is it. Now, granted, it makes good business sense, and like I said before he IS an awesome character - but come on! There doesn’t seem to be a friggin’ point to this story! It reads like it belongs in the Origins title and does not deserve a 3 part limited series.

Ok, all of that said, we’re only in the first issue. I am always willing to be surprised, especially with comics - but if you’ve got that little time/space to get something rolling, let’s have some interesting bits happen in this first issue! Especially for a $3.99 price tag! Gah!

Now, if issue 2 turns out to be amazing, please don’t get me wrong, I will be the first up here to admit it and talk about it. I’ll be crossing my fingers ’till next month.
