Alright, let’s get started!
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull debuted at Cannes this last weekend, and we get to see the first review in from Times magazine!
“There are scenes in the new movie that seem like stretching exercises at a retirement home; there are garrulous stretches, and even the title seems a few words too long. But once it gets going, Crystal Skull delivers smart, robust, familiar entertainment. Ford looks just fine, his chest skin tanned to a rich Corinthian leather; he’s still lithe on his feet, and can deliver a wisecrack as sharp as a whipcrack. Karen Allen, 56, who was Indy’s saucy love Marion Ravenwood in Raiders, still has that glittering smile and vestiges of her old elfin swagger. They needn’t break a sweat keeping up with the (relative) kids: 39-year-old Cate Blanchett, the movie’s villainess, and Shia LaBeouf, who plays the young lead Mutt Williams, and who may be tapped to continue the series after Ford’s retirement — at least that’s what Lucas hinted a few days ago here in Cannes.” [Time.com]
Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse
So what exactly is Dollhouse?
Explains Whedon: “Dollhouse is a suspense drama about a girl who can have any personality except her own.” So it’s part Alias and part Quantum Leap, “because Echo is literally changing who she is,” he continues. “She gets into people’s lives a little bit.” Even Dushku’s. “I relate so much to this character,” she marvels. “Echo is essentially the story of my life. I’ve lived a crazy life the past 16 years, traveling around the world and then tripping and falling into this business. Everyone wants you to transform and be a different person every week.”
Here is the trailer, it looks really fun, and Eliza Dushku looks better than ever:
Because I cannot get a copy of it to load or embedded anywhere, you’re going to have to go offsite to see it.
The Dark Knight:
During the season finale of Smallville, a brand new The Dark Knight trailer debuted, and we get a glimpse at some of Bruce Wayne’s new technology, along with some more Joker shenanigans!
And also, here is a brand spankin new movie poster featuring Heath Ledger’s Joker. Click the image for a hi-res GIANT version!
Hat tip to WhatisTechno for the Dark Knight info!
Punisher: War Zone
Say what you will about the Punisher remake featuring Thomas Jane, but I thought it was pretty damn good. It would have been ten times better without John Travolta’s character in it - but everything in between was exciting and I recommend this movie to everyone.
I really feel like Travolta brought down the first one, and it wouldn’t have gotten such a bad name if it weren’t for the poor decision to have Howard Saint be the villain in that one. And while it sucks to not have the same actor in the sequel, Ray Stevenson is an awesome actor. I loved his performance in HBO’s series Rome, and I think he is the perfect choice to play Frank Castle. Not only that, but Jigsaw is the perfect villain for a feature film about old Frank - and he’s played by none other than Dominic West from The Wire! How can it get better than that!?
Everyone seems to be bagging on this movie - and we haven’t even seen a trailer yet - just wait, this one’s gonna rawk!
In any case, from the Punisher: War Zone camp, we get some new pics and a brand new poster:
G.I. Joe: Dark Sky:
Since we started publishing cast and set leaks from the new G.I. Joe movie, our readership has grown, so it’s clear that’s what people want! Here are a couple new set pics from Prague shoot we posted about last week:

Robocop:
CANNES — MGM could be bringing back the Cold War.
“Red Dawn,” John Milius’ 1984 tale of a group of American rebels fighting Soviet forces, is a candidate for a remake, studio toppers Harry Sloan and Mary Parent revealed Saturday at the American Pavilion in Cannes.
They also confirmed that 1987’s “Robocop” could resurface in a new version.
As for all the bad buzz surrounding “Valkyrie,” from MGM subsidiary UA, Sloan said that photos of an eyepatch-clad Tom Cruise as an SS office were “a little bit unfortunate,” but were released to reassure the German government about the seriousness of the project.
MGM/UA’s prepared to prevail over the nay-sayers. “We’ve had image problems before,” Sloan said, alluding to early negativity on hits like “Casino Royale” and “Rocky Balboa.” “The film will speak for itself. [Hollywood Reporter]
The Incredible Hulk
Three BRAND NEW trailers for The Incredible Hulk were released recently, some of the same footage is reused, but the trailers are showing more and more about how this is about story and not so much about special effects. I think they’re trying to hit both bases here, but we’ll see.

Spiderman 4 and 5
There’s a lot of buzz going around that James Vanderbilt has turned in a “working” draft of Spider-Man 4 which has a story arc that leads directly into the fifth movie. The two separate films are set so close together that both Spider-Man 4 and 5 could be shot at the same time.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
this, to me, is by far the most exciting part of today’s Monday Movie Mayhem! There has not been much news floating around about this flick, but I think it just doesn’t want to get overshadowed by Iron Man, The Dark Knight, Indy etc.., which is a smart move.
Either way, after watching this trailer, let me knjow just how damn exciting this movie seems to you! Also we have 20 Hi-Res stills from the movie as well:
Here’s the pics - enjoy!

Phew - that’s it for this week. This post took a lot of time and I want to thank all of the people submitting tips to me for this info!
Let me know what you think - any of these look exciting?
Do you agree with me about The Punisher or The Mummy?

5I think this is where to post about MOVIES
I havent ever read any WATCHMEN BOOKS but after I saw the trailer during the SCREAM awards last week, I AM SO IN! I need to go pick up some TPB….
O…and BTW any one else think Brad Pitt would work for STeve Rogers…he’s got the acting skill that it would take to “Assemble” the AVENGERS plus the look if he bulks up like he did in TROY (just clean cut)
BESIDES his SLU__Y lil woman could play BLACK WIDOW
And I still think KEVIN McKidd IS IDEAL for THOR since D. Craig turned it down!
