Story Line: Part 2 o 6
Date: June 18th 2008
Price: $2.99
Writer: B. Clay Moore
Artist: Carlo Barberi and Drew Geraci
Synopsis: The exciting new series continues as Casey Blue finds juggling her old life with her new one can be a difficult experience…especially when she’s being hunted for a murder she can’t remember! And does the mysterious woman whom holds the answers an ally…or an enemy?
Opinion: I can’t believe the second issue of Casey Blue is already here! Thank god for that since I’ve been waiting anxiously ever since the ending of the first issue. Lucky for all the fans of Casey she was not arrested or even caught by the cop while she was covered in blood. However aside from that question being answered this issue was a bit of a let down.
Don’t get me wrong the art was still great, the plot and story line are moving along nicely (if you can follow the halting progress it makes), and Casey’s character did develop rather significantly. However those are really the only good things I can say about this issue.
Read on…
Like I said the solution to the cliffhanger in issue one is quickly resolved and Casey becomes a normal teenager with a great life. That’s about all that makes sense. Casey of course starts to investigate the murder she commited the night before and only succeeds in more questions and in alienating her best friend and her brother. In her investigation she discovers who the lead detective is. The issue flashes to the detective to give the reader a little more character development but what is explained doesn’t make any sense and doesn’t seem to matter anyway because then Casey comes out of nowhere and kills him.
The whole time she’s fighting him she’s trying to stay conscious of what she’s doing, unlike the last murder she did but she still has no idea why she’s doing it or why she’s so good at it. This makes very little sense to me and tries at my patience. I need an explanation! Why does she have no memory of the first murder, why is a 16 year-old so good at hand to hand combat and firing a gun? These questions need answers quickly or the whole story is going to fall apart. There is a little hope since she was shot down by a tranquilizer dart and picked up by someone who is at least interested in keeping her alive, maybe we’ll learn something by next issue.

2It’s ok, considering it’s another mini series after reading two issues myself I would say at this point it wouldn’t be worth paying for the trade (if one comes).
I might change my tune after some more installments, though.

3I’m going wait to read what you guys think about the next issues before I consider checking this mini-series out, then.
