I think I alluded to this in a different comment, but I was hoping Marvel would pull some more back story stuff with this crossover. I was hoping it would go further back, you know, kinda like Secret War was supposed to. Kinda like Civil War was supposed to. Kinda like House of M was... Oh wait, it kinda did.

Marvel loves to say, "this story will change the world". No, wait, scratch that, comic companies love to say that. It's rarely true. My point is this writers, editors, artists, and the like of Marvel and DC, you don't need to change the world, simply write a good story.

I love Marvel, I love DC(well, Vertigo), I love Dark Horse, I even love Dynamite Entertainment! But come on, you will get all of the money I can spare for stories I want to read, but I will not give you one extra red cent for bits of pieces of a story that you think you need to use every book in your pantheon to tell.

I don't think you're being too harsh: You have a point, Clayton. It's the same way with Batman "RIP"---how the hell are we supposed to know all this crap? It's just too hard on the reader. We shouldn't have to go back and look everything up.

I was amped with New Avengers until Civil War, which was almost immediately. Since then it's been one semi-interesting story after another. I love the book, I love the team, but my interest is beginning to wane for the same reasons i've never been a "big team book" reader, it's confusing. As for this particular issue? As someone who has been on this particular ride since it left the station, I felt that little bit of "ahhh" that you talked about, I enjoyed knowing some of what was going on, but I have to wonder if it hasn't been planned this way by a cigar chewing gentleman with one eye from the very beginning.

Also, Marvel is doing what they do every summer since I can remember, selling as many books as thay can by forcing readers to read titles they normally wouldn't to get the whole story. I've hated it since I was 10, I hate it more now.

Yeah it has man. The first couple of tie-ins has been really good, but these last two have just been... awful.
