Welcome to Hollywood’s Weekly Webcomic Showcase! Each week I, redhollywood, will be reviewing a different webcomic that I think my readers would be interested in. Why webcomics you ask? Webcomics are a great source of free entertainment geared to the comic loving crowd. My goal is to find the diamond amongst all the dirty rocks. This week I will be reviewing Chris Flick’s webcomic Capes & Babes. Capes & Babes is a webcomic about a strip mall, a comic book shop and one crazy
werewolf that likes to hang out there. The shop is run by Marc who has built
a replica of “The Tonight Show” set in the back of the shop where he records
a video podcast for web.

The podcast features interviews of famous characters or comic book
personalities. Thus far, Marc has interviewed Taskmaster, Reed Richards,
Starfire, Power Girl, Vampirella, Paul Levitz and Dan Didio to name just a
few.

First off I would like to say that Capes & Babes is very funny. It is a well written strip poking fun at all that is ridiculous about the comic world and comics in general. Filled with taboo topics and witty quips Capes & Babes delivers in the entertainment department. The art is fun to look at and I absolutely love the renditions of famous comic characters that Flick does. When I was first emailed about Capes & Babes I was a little skeptical but then I actually read it and it was great fun. It was so much fun in fact that I went back and read every single strip that Chris Flick had posted on his site. Never once did I get bored while reading. The only drawback that some people might have is the horny humor of his furry character Roy. I find it relatable as everyone has that friend that is a straight up dog….err in Roy’s case wolf. I strongly recommend this strip to everyone and seeing as it updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday there is plenty Capes & Babes to enjoy. Congrats Chris you have a new long term fan!!!
