Welcome to Hollywood’s Weekly Webcomic Showcase! Each week I, redhollywood, will be reviewing a different webcomic that I think my readers would be interested in. Why webcomics you ask? Webcomics are a great source of free entertainment geared to the comic loving crowd. My goal is to find the diamond amongst all the dirty rocks. If you know any webcomics that you would like for me to review just shoot me an email at redhollywood@hotmail.com. Jump on down for this week’s webcomic.

This week’s webcomic is Dresden Codak by Aaron Diaz. Aaron Diaz a former native of Mobile moved to Portland to run Dresden Codak fulltime. It is a fascinating comic for love of things science. For some people Dresden Codak will fly over their heads but it is worth the read. Aaron usually offers a explanation of the comic, also. You can browse through the archive and see when Aaron was doing single comics at the beginning, or you can start on his latest series Hob. Hob is very entertaining and very smart. The art is top notch. Aaron is one of my favorite artists and has been for some time. He also employs a daily sketch blog and has merchandise that is must-have.

The only problem with Dresden Codak is the updating schedule, which is not very often. Many have complained and they are right. For someone who does their webcomic for a living it should at least be updated once a week. On the other hand the art and story are well worth the wait. I have never been let down. If you like science, great art, and great storytelling, go check out www.dresdencodak.com.
