Storyline: Act Three of Three
Date: May 7, 2008

Writer: Brian K. Vaughn
Artists: Eduardo Risso and Dean White
Synopsis: In the gut-wrenching conclusion to Vaughan and Risso’s epic story, Wolverine must make the single most difficult decision of his long and bloody career.
Opinion: Man this limited series has been a roller coaster for me. Don’t get me wrong, now; I love Vaughn’s storytelling abilities, but this one was BAD. I thought that Vaughn’s take on the Marvel Knights Wolverine had an extremely weak start on Logan #1, but in the middle I saw a glimmer of hope with Logan #2 as we saw the story reaching the potential to be a classic. I had high hopes for where this thing was going but after this third and final issue I am wishing I didn’t spend my money on this thing.

For $3.99 we get 21 pages of junk, with a super quick resolution, a shallow rivalry, an out of character intimate moment and finally a preposterous conclusion.
This story is neither touching nor interesting, and certainly not ‘gut-wrenching’. The only cool thing about it is the regenerative properties of this arch’s villain, which is treated as a mysterious plot device that goes absolutely nowhere. What do we learn after this arch? Wolverine’s a tortured soul stuck in a bad ass’s body. But who didn’t already know that about this character? Save your money, folks.
Art was great, though, especially the cover!
