Happy Monday folks, and welcome to our weekly feature, Monday Movie Mayhem! Where we cover movie and TV nerd-related news for all the ComicNerd.com readers out there!
This week we have a new trailer for The Dark Knight, which doesn’t feel boring and stuff we’ve already seen over and over again (for the most part). A brand new teaser trailer for Punisher: War Zone. Some news for you Terminator fans out there about where to see the first trailer. An update on the potential Captain America movie. The first glimpse of the new hocky mask to be used in the upcoming Friday The 13th remake/reboot. Some possibly bad news about Jon Favreau NOT being on board for Iron Man 2. Finally, we have a 7 minute clip of the entire chase scene from Wanted!
Click through the jump to be overwhelmed by nerdy movie goodness!
Alright, let’s get started!
The Dark Knight:
A brand new trailer for The Dark Knight was thrown up on Comcast’s on-demand service over the weekend. Check it out! Bonus Joker quote: “When the chips are down, these civilized people will eat each other. You’ll see. I’ll show ya”

Punisher: War Zone:
Here’s the very first teaser trailer for Punisher: War Zone. I have to say, the teaser isn’t very good and feels quite rushed. Let’s hold out hope that what we see in the future presents the movie better. On the other hand, this movie is getting a ‘hard’ R, which can only be a good thing for a Punisher movie.

Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins
Here’s something cool for ya. Be sure to watch the previews at The Dark Knight’s premiere; a teaser trailer for the upcoming Terminator sequel will be debuting for the first time at this movie. Doesn’t hurt to share a star, huh?
Captain America:
Here’s another “Romort” (a rumor that is being reported) from LatinoReview. Apparently, in addition to Brad Pitt, Marvel Studios is considering Leonardo DiCaprio for the part. This is quite a stretch in my opinion and a very foolish casting choice. I’d be happy to be proved wrong, though. Leo can act, I enjoyed him in the Aviator, for sure - but this is quite a stretch.

Friday The 13th:
MTV News got a glimpse at the mask of Jason Vorrhees in the new remake/reboot of Friday The 13th, set to be released on Febuary 13, 2009 (yep, a Friday). Check it out at [MTV News] - BEWARE - really annoying music.
Iron Man 2:
Marvel wants to push Avengers and Iron Man 2 out in the next few years, and Jon Favreau has made it known that he believes this is not even close to enough time. As a possible response to this, the rumors are that Marvel Studios Chairman David Maisel was trying to lowball Jon Favreau to possibly find a cheaper director who isn’t as interested in quality as much as he is in speed.
It has been reported now that there actually is an offer to Favreau, and it is significantly more than what he got for Iron Man.
Who knows - to be honest I hate covering stuff like this, as it just completely kills the buzz these movies make for nerds like me. I’ll tell you what, unless it’s solid news and things are moving forward - I won’t report on it at all here.
Wanted:
And here’s 7 whole minutes from the upcoming movie Wanted, this details the chase sequence setup when Wesley meets Fox:
Alright folks, that’s a wrap for today!
What do you think about Wanted? You gonna go see it? Did you see The Incredible Hulk this last weekend? Did you like it? Hate it?

1Incredible hulk was awesome. If marvel gets another director for iron man 2 for speed purposes then we will have another X3 on our hands…Don’t frak this up marvel.

2Seriously! We want Favreau!
The failure that was X3 should be burned into their brains … Come on! The guy did a good job, let’s leave it at that! Don’t mess with things when there’s no need to.
Good thing they’re keeping him.
That TDK alternate trailer rules. It felt soo much creepier just because of how they set it up with the music (or lack thereof).

10Me either. I always thought it looked cheesy, actually. So a live-action movie is just an all-around bad idea … I don’t know how it could NOT be.

14Haha, it’s brand new, that’s probably why. If you go to gothamcitypizzeria.com and put your mouse over the “HA” in “GOTHAM CITY PIZZERIA,” and then click, you’ll be transferred there.
It was just put up last night.
