Storyline: Revelations
Date: May 21, 2008
Price: $2.99 US
Writer: Walter Simonson
Artist: Ludo Lullabi and Sandra Hope
Synopsis: During a sea voyage to Menethil Harbor, Lo’Gosh is attacked by the naga, led by a powerful female siren. Further secrets of Lo’Gosh’s past are revealed and Valeera proves far more powerful — and more vulnerable — than any, but Broll, had suspected.
Opinion: World of Warcraft episode #7 continues to impress! I know I keep saying how much of a nerd/fan I am of the whole WOW adventure but this comic series is just as fun as the game itself! In this latest episode our unlikely heroes head toward “civilization” and run into some trouble along the way.
The art continues to do justice to the characters created by Blizzard, for those of you scratching your heads, that’s the company that creates the World of Warcraft game online. In this recent episode the Naga attack from the bottom of the ocean, just our of pure spite of the “land dwellers.”
For more on the battle that follows, click to read on…
One of my favorite parts of this series is the attention to the detail of each class of hero. We have a rogue, a druid, and a warrior, each battle details their special unique skills and this episode is no different. In fact in #7 some time is spent on arcane energy and the power it can hold over the elves. Even if you don’t spend most of your week in the World of Warcraft online you can understand the significance of a powerful energy controlling our heroes in a negative way.
Not only this but we can see the rogue’s powerful ability to strike from behind something a fan of WOW may have experienced first hand. The druid’s ability to shape shift ends up saving our rogue hero’s life but only after she saves him with her sinister strike. Up on deck our warrior gets a few lucky shots in the angrier he gets and the battle is won by the skin of their teeth.
Any comic fan would really enjoy this series, you don’t have to play the MMRPG to understand the story but I will say to all you WOW fans you have to get your hands on this comic series! I have such a better appreciation for the heroes because I’ve fought the Naga myself and they are not fun! I’ve been a rogue, a druid and a warrior so I can also appreciate the different fighting styles and moves that go into the battles. I could drone on and on so I’ll finish by saying that I can’t wait for the next issue!

2I’m kind of loathe to get into MMORPGs, just because I know they’re so addicting (especially for video game junkies like myself) and time-consuming, and I don’t have the money on top of that. But I’ve always wanted to play WoW. So maybe I’ll check this comic out sometime to see what it’s like (in a way, of course—as I’m sure it can’t match the game itself).
