Synopsis: The past comes alive as our heroes reach Theramore, where the lore of Jaina Proudmore reveals Lo’Gosh’s hidden identity. But has it truly done so? Meanwhile, life’s not easy and definitely not for a blood elf. Valeera is trying to help her friends, but things will get complicated while the human assasin is getting closer to Lo’Gosh.

Opinion: The World of Warcraft comic does a good job of bringing the World of Warcraft universe alive and together into one story.  Admittedly I have the most experience with the video game, though the art in the comic book does reflect the art with the cards.  I have got into the recent story in episode 6 so I’ve missed most of what is going on.  However, I will say that the story can be started at any episode, the book does a nice job of catching you up with what you missed and still continuing the story.

For those of you who play the video game this is a fantastic comic!  Read my full review of this comic after the jump!

The art does a great job of mimicking the landscape the game has.  This latest comic had a entire scene in Duskwood and really goes the extra mile to be true to the game.  The mention of ports, villages, and major cities all gives the reader an idea of the world, however to a game player those mentions gives you a whole new concept of the story.  As a reader and a gamer you no longer have to rely on the artists vision of that village on the one page the character’s happen to be there, as a game player you have an inside look at the entire layout.  For example the characters spent a lot of time in Darnassus, however, the art only reflected bits and pieces of the great city.  The WOW gamer, on the other hand, can piece together those few pages and really appreciate the overall beauty of the city and the character’s involvement in that city.

I could go on forever, as far as the story goes it is just as good as the art.  The whole concept of a human, night elf and blood elf working together is great, since as a gamer you would never have that option. As a gamer you also know that stories of the major classes you have played. If you’ve ever played a human on the game you know the story of Stormwind, the great human city, Alliance controlled. This comic is a must read as a continuation of that story you get when you start a new human character.  I don’t want to spoil it but it’s really worth your time to start this story line, even if you are loyal to the horde!
